Me personally... I'm doing my own. I took that wire harness that just T'd off and cut the ends off. I now have one 12-pin plug with 10 wires hanging off it.

BTW looked this morning, no sensors for alarm on my truck. So I just won't hook those up I suppose.

Yes, I wasn't suggesting this was a plug and play deal at all. I cut that same connector off for the 10 wires.
We all have to do our own, none of it is plug and play for our trucks, would be very nice if that $12 harness just plugged in, but that isn't how ford wires these trucks up, rarely are there spare wires/connectors for additional functions on any harness.
My minor point above was simply to point out the factory circuit to use for the illumination source.

flsdiver, do you have the pinout for the rear window switch? I think it has the same illumination circuit and the proximity is a little more favorable.

It's in this thread someplace already.
It's not the same circuit. Yes, much easier to get to, no question. It works fine, others have used it....not sure which wire it is as it's not marked...i used other posted above.
F23 - Master window control switch, DC/AC inverter module, Roof opening panel module, Power sliding window switch, rear. Looks like just power?
I don't know.

Default Here ya go................

Pins 1 & 2 - blank (no wires)

pin 3 - black - ground

pin 4 - yellow - to switch 1 trigger

pin 5 - dark green/brown tracer - power supply for switches 5 & 6

pin 6 - dark green/black tracer - to switch 2 trigger

pin 7 - yellow/orange tracer - to switch 6 trigger

pin 8 - light blue/orange tracer - to switch 5 trigger

pin 9 - brown - switch 4 trigger

pin 10 - violet/blue tracer - to switch 3 trigger

pin 11 - dark green/orange tracer - power supply for switches 1 - 4

pin 12 - violet/gray tracer - power for blue lights in switches (when switch is
turned "ON" it turns yellow)

That's how I have mine wired up. I did notice that one of my wiring colors differed slightly from the the pin connector diagram. The diagram printout showed pin 5 as brown/white tracer, while on my harness it actually had dark green/brown tracer in that spot. Also, these colors are sort of hard to determine, specially tracers, but that's the best I can see them with + 400 cheaters on, LOL. I have verified by putting 12 volts to pins 5, 11, 12 and the outcome to the other pins. That's as far as I have gotten so far. Working on my "power distribution board" for behind the back seat right now.

Get the oem connector and wire it to the bcm and use it!

Any idea if the terminals in the two unused connectors are the right size to fit the bcm harness for ambient lighting data lines? Might Save me ordering extra terminals if they will fit

Beats me... what do you mean get the oem connector and wire it to the BCM and use it??? What are you referring to?

In my 2016, the rear window switch has an LED that is constantly powered and is not part of the dimmer circuit. I've attached a part of the wiring diagram that includes that switch, below. As you can see, pin 4 comes from pin 1 - both are powered when the truck is on. I took power for the upfitter switch illumination by splicing into the BN-YE wire going to pin 4 and it works fine, but it is a deviation from the OEM design that flsdiver used (I don't have his patience. )
