The other thing to note is the IPC bezel and the door handles are NOT metal. All of the trims (incl. the Limited) sadly have plastic parts. I still went with the darker limited plastic and think it looks great.
Thanks so much - that would be greatly appreciated!

The one part that had me concerned if it was actually the metal was the right vent as that part # (GL3Z-1504338-EA) is only like $35 now at Tasca.

Not sure if I'm going to replace the IPC bezel or rear vent unit - how difficult were those? I know I have to disassemble the center dash to do the vents on each side of the touch screen. Guessing that will be enough of a project in of itself.

Went with the dark anodized door rests/covers, and the 'luxury' wheel without ACC since that's my application. Have all these other parts in my Tasca basket - just trying to decide on IPC and rear vent controller too...

Yeah, would love to see some pics for reference. I hate my faux wood panels in the doors and glove box area on my Lariat trim. Would be interested in seeing the upgraded look.

From the research I've done (a lot of reading here and part # research) - you would have to replace your entire door panel from the trim level you wanted. The wood trim piece at the glove box is sold separately, but then you'd have things mismatched. Not sure what the door panels go for, but probably not cheap.

Heck even replacing all these interior trim pieces to the metal ones is around $1k if you do it all...

IPC is super easy. Two bolts and some tabs. The center dash parts are the most involved.

Rear console is also pretty easy, pull the cup holder out, two bolts and some tabs. Is your Lariat black, gray, or camel? The rear piece only comes in black. In my camel Lariat, I had to disassemble it, then use some short screws to reattach to the new piece.

I didn't upgrade the faux wood, but it looks a lot better balanced by the metal.

Well thats good to know - I actually found an install guide for something else that shows how to remove the IPC. Does the cupholder just pull up - disengaging some clips or something?

My Lariat has the black interior - so I should just be able to use that part as is correct?

Appreciate all the feedback on this...

The greatest area of potential contrast / mismatch is going to be where the center console trim (which I ordered the Plat version) meets the center stack vents (keeping the same for now). Those vent pieces are stupid expensive, hence my reason for a phased approach. The improved leather makes the expense of the wheel easy to justify, the console trim is really the piece that chaps my ***, so that had to be done, and the door trim is cheap enough to make it worth while.

Part numbers below. These are still on order from Tasca, so I can not validate the accuracy yet, but I will update the post when they come in. The part numbers were sourced by Tasca using a 2017 Platinum VIN and fordparts.com callouts. EDIT: Upgrade complete. I ended up doing the full upgrade. It looks great! Part numbers are accurate. "Darkstorm Metallic" is basically metallic black, for the door handles and instrument panel surround, which are plastic in all trims. If you want a slightly lighter plastic, the Limited color, "Dark Anodized" is a good choice. Those start with GL3Z (e.g. GL3Z-16275A18-AA, and so on). The FL3Z-XX-BA parts are the Lariat silver series parts. There is also another color FL3Z-XX-CB "obsidian metallic," which I don't know what that looks like. *below notes that these are plastic pieces at all trims, so if you are happy with the color you have no sense in upgrading those.

Ordered so far (all Platinum trim pieces)...
Steering Wheel with ACC - JL3Z-3600-LA - $261.07
Center Console Trim - FL3Z-15045A76-CA - $137.20
*Front Door Trims L & R - FL3Z-1822642-CA / FL3Z-1822643-CA - $16.01 x2
*Rear Door Trims L & R - FL3Z-16275A18-CA / FL3Z-16275A19-CA - $15.25 x2

If I decide to do the full boogie... Here are the full remainder of additional parts. The other wrinkle, is that I have a camel Lariat Screw, and the rear seat vents come as a single unit including the lower panel. Since there is no camel Platinum (60% of the reason I went for a Lariat, the other 40% being the forking ugly P L A T I N U M tailgate), the Plat rear vent panel only comes as black. There is the potential I could separate just the vent / outlet section, but I'm sure Ford plastic welded the snot out of it. That being said, since I still have black carpet, I bet it would look just fine. Fingers crossed that the partial job above looks good. If not, I'll add the two center stack pieces, and go from there.

Center Stack Right - FL3Z-1504338-GB - $114.70
Center Stack Left - FL3Z-1504339-RA - $113.81
Right Vent - GL3Z-1504338-EA - $65.26
Left Vent with Spotlights - FL3Z-1504338-GA - $77.71
Rear Vent Console Panel - JL3Z-15045E24-DA - $147.88
*Cluster Bezel (for the two strips surrounding the IPC) FL3Z-15044D70-CA - $70.59

..not sure why that second set of part numbers is all over the place, guessing it is because some part numbers changed for 2018.
Hey all, I'm going to be doing this upgrade and after looking at some pictures online of Platinums and Limited F-150's, is the brushed aluminum different colors. The limited trim looks darker to me. I just got my steering wheel for my lariat and after seeing the trim on the wheel I too want to upgrade the rest of the pieces with aluminum. However it's very hard to tell from the Tasca descriptions. If anyone is interested I also got the part number for the center console lid on the platinum. The leather is way better than the vinyl lids on the lariat.
