When an Automobile Manufacturer releases a new generation of an existing model, they let the press know, to get the word out to the public (Free Advertising)....Usually through Cough/Cough Leaks, then officially (Press invited)
They always go out of the way to create a frenzy over the fact that it's an all new version of a seemingly dated whatever (Same model, new generation) especially past successful products.
They also get the word out when it's just a MAKEUP, AKA, Refresh/Update to an existing Generation.
It's expensive to have to retool an assembly line for a new generation, so they wanna hang on as long as possible-->Toyota P/Us!...The reason for a refresh (2018 F-150) is to give the perception yer getting an all new redesigned vehicle + keep interest high...Just about every manufacturer does the same thing...Refresh current model sometimes more than once before a new generation is introduced or Kill the model altogether.

I wonder if this will push back a full-on redesign now. Wasn't the next Gen rumored to be 2020? I'm betting it will be '21 or '22 now.

Uh, Ford probably knew that they were doing a 2018 refresh when they decided when to roll out the next generation truck. These decisions are not something that are made 1 month in advance or something, nor easily reversed, they're many years out.

I just don't see what the issue is with posting in the 2015+ forum and putting details in the title like, "2018 blah blah", "3.5 10-speed blah blah", "2018 Anzo headlights blah blah". I think forums work best with large buckets and then let the folks in them sort things out. But we'll see what happens.

I've looked at a bunch of pictures and I'm pretty sure the good and fenders are the same. Just grill, lights, bumper, and fill panel are changed up front
In the rear the lights and gate from the new will swap onto the current it looks like. I'll bet the front bolts on too it's just gonna be all or nothing up there.
I can see blackboost's point but I don't think it will be that bad.

Well, I edited the Wikipedia article... but someone will probably reverse my changes. That happens a lot there.
