Anyone recall the torque specs on the U-bolts?

I'm getting ready to try something on my F150 this weekend. I have a 4x4 & installed a 1.5" AS front level. Even with the level, my rear is still 1.5" higher then the front. I was just gonna remove the 1.25" rear block all together which would leave me 1/4" high in the rear. I still wanna have just a little rake for towing things. I bought a set of used OEM blocks from a member on here & machined them down to 5/8" thick. I'm going to replace my stock blocks with these 5/8" blocks & see how it looks.

Here's a pic of both blocks with one on each side so you can see. I ended up just removing the blocks all together because it still sat too high for me in the rear, & installed new 2wd U-bolts. It now sits 3/8" higher in the rear which is perfect for me. It's kinda funny, I raise the front 1.5" & remove the 1.25" rear block & it sits damn near level.....lol

I think I'm going to do the same so that my wife and passengers can enter my Supercab easier. Did you leave the wheels on the ground and jack the frame up on each side to gain the space needed to pull the block out? I see u-bolts available at Tasca and Levittown ford...where did you get yours? Thanks Lou.

I jacked up the rear and put Jack stands under the rear of the frame. Set the parking brake and remove both rear tires, you won't be able to lower the rear enough without removing the tires. Then just do one side at a time, place the Jack on whatever side and make it so the Jack just touches, then remove the nuts and old u-bolts, lower the Jack slowly until enough space is there to remove the block, install new u-bolts and torque them to spec. It's very easy, I did it in the driveway with hand tools and it took me about 20 minutes. I ordered my u-bolts from my local dealership.

I've removed mine on my '11, '12 & this '15. I did the same, stands under the frame. But if you raise it high enough for the stands, the axle will drop enough to remove the block. I did one side at a time.

So after reading this thread, I decided to remove mine. Using a battery powered impact made this 30 minute job.

Just loosen up the U bolts on one side. Then i used my floor jack and a piece of 2x4 to push up on the leaf spring. The block can be removed.

Just take your time tightening the U bolts and get them as even as possible.

Truck looks much better now.
