Remote Starting with Ford Pass Sync
#11
OMG!
I just KNEW someone would go there! I kind of agree with you.
You would think the dealer would go over most of the important points with the customer, remote start being one of them!
But then they also forgot for two weeks to tell him it came in. Supposedly a miscommunication.
Oh well, at least he got a fantastic price.
If anyone knows if you would have all those Ford Pass things but not remote start, let me know!
Thank You,
Lee

I actually know two different guys that have brand new (both bought a year or so ago) fully loaded GM trucks, with all the bells and whistles. I was amazed... no, shocked to find out that they don’t know how to use the factory navigation. Or satelite radio. Or car play. It was confusing enough for them to operate the climate control and FM radio. And even more shocking... they have absolutely no desire to ever learn how to use those features either. Neither own a computer or tablet, one has a flip phone, and the other has an iphone. I asked him to text me a picture he had in his phone, and he had no idea how to do that. I had to show him. Ten minutes later, he had already forgotten. He literally only uses it for phone calls, almost exclusively. There’s a lot more people out there like that, than most of us realize.

Have your friend watch this short video from Ford.
He will know in a minute if he has the remote start option

ST, but X Package
We watched the video. He did everything in the app to add his vehicle and give it a nickname, but he never saw the screen on the app to activate the vehicle and then the pop up on the touch screen. He got the STX package, he has climate control, but not navigation. If that helps at all?

does he have the start icon in the app? You said he can lock his doors from the app, he should be able to start it.
the truck has to be locked, open the app, press and hold the start button above his truck, should start.
may delete the vehicle from app and add back manually per the video..

Him and another guy at work have added and deleted his truck from the app several times trying to see if the features are available. He told me last night his sales guy is not tech savvy at all, but gave him the impression he would be able to lock and unlock the truck from the app. So far the lock/unlock and start buttons are not apprearing in the app. Thanks for the input.
