Mine is set automatic and it was 20F outside this morning - remote started it for 5 minutes : No hot seats at all. There is no way on earth I would let it idle for more than 5 minutes - very bad for the engine + waste of fuel and environment.

When I turn them on manually to full heat, it takes less than 1 minute before I can actually feel it.

I will switch to ''last setting'' and leave everything on full heat everytime I will park it at night. This automatic system is not optimized properly.

You have zero experience and you post threads with contradicting information and moan about it being posted many times. Useless.

Exactly

Your links are not helpful. Nothing but contradiction. Why clutter up this one?

I know there are many threads about this feature, but I haven't seen one yet that unequivocally answers peoples' questions about how it's designed to work.

I don't have the answer, either, BTW.
Which is why new threads come up. What may or may not have worked could have possibly changed. Folks giving their experiences is what helps out, not someone that doesn't have answers or personal experience and posting old useless threads.

When it gets cold enough I guess I'll leave my truck out for a night and see what happens. Never gets cold enough in the garage for the heated seats or steering wheel to come on.

I called the service dept. mgr. yesterday (he's an old friend) and asked if he would please confirm what temp the heated items should come on with remote start. He is going to research and promised to get back to me in the next day or two. Being T-day today I expect it will be the first of next week.

I have an XLT 302A and mine is set to auto. When I first got the truck the heated seats came on but lately not. It’s been below zero also.

Now that it's winter, I usually use remote start and let the engine warm up for 3-5 minutes in the morning. I have not sensed the seat heaters coming on using either 'auto' or 'last used' settings for the remote start climate control.

2016 XLT 302A w/ manual climate control and cloth seats
Ambient temp: -14F to 10F (Last 10 days)

Of course, after turning the ignition key and turning on the heated seats, I can feel the heat within 1 minute. Fortunately, the cloth seats let the heat through pretty easily.

Last night went to the movies and it was 1 deg F outside. Therefore I finally got to try out the remote start using Ford Pass on my iPhone. I can report it worked fantastic. By the time we got to the truck everything was toasty warm including the cab, steering wheel and seats.

Its a really nice feature and was pleased everything worked as it should.......

I have a 2017 XLT 302A with sync connect. Whether I use my phone or the remote my seat heaters work every time! I have it set on Auto. The 23 degree thing is irrelevant, it hasn’t been above zero here for about a week!
