Default Remote Start / Auto Climate option on XLT

Hello,

I tried searching the manual and could only find information regarding this function for the higher trims with the auto climate module.

On my Dash under settings, Remote Start there is an option for the climate to be on "Auto" or "Last set". I've had it set on Auto and today with it being 90° outside and hot, I decided to remote start the truck.

I noticed the climate module was disabled during remote start function until the key is entered (makes sense). But what I didn't understand was since the cabin was hot inside, why the blower was only on half speed and blowing through just the floor vents?

Wouldn't it make most sense to default to "max AC" when it's hot in the cabin? It wasn't barely doing anything to keep up.

My last manual preset was upper vents and 3/4 fan speed which it resumed to once the key was in.

Just looking for info on how this is supposed to work.

Same issues here.

I've been disappointed in mine as well. Auto doesn't do much for me at all. Last set only works if I remember to crank it to Max when I park. Our Tahoe blows on high when you remote start, I have really quit using the remote start on my truck due to it really not helping at all.

Thanks - that's a little disappointing. I also hate how the heated seats default to "off" each time the truck is started (manual or otherwise) - first car I've owned to do that. Not that it's needed now, but I did try it for curiosity sake the other day.

Starting to wish I sprung for a Lariat rather then a fully equipped XLT more and more...

Auto is unfortunately mostly useless.

Living in florida I've just set it to use last set instead as its almost always blowing harder than what auto would do. I can recommend using a good tint if heat is your issue though as it helps cut down how much the air has to work to keep up.

Auto works great in winter, but in summer, leave it on "last settings' and remember to crank the AC before turning off the truck.

Ditto the above comments. At least for the summer, I've found Auto to generally be useless. The last setting option has been my better bet - particularly when I remember to set it to max before I get out...

Ok, thanks - I'll change the setting.

Does anyone know of Ford has a way to default the heated seats to last setting? Would be nice to have that come this winter for the remote start.

My Auto works just fine.... I am not experiencing any of these issues. I haven't had it during the winter yet, so I dont know about the seats yet. I guess Ill find out.

Odd, mine is set to Auto, and works as Expected! When I've R.S. my truck, this summer and it's been over 90! When I get in, it's freezing cold, blowing on High, through the 4 dash vents!

I leave mine on last set and just put it where I want it. My last 3-4 trucks have been that way. Ac blows ice cold while I'm out of truck
