I was overcharged once before too, but the dealer had already sent the money to the DMV.

So I went to the DMV to inquire about the overcharge. The DMV admitted that there was an overcharge but stated that they can't give money back after the paperwork has been processed. So they kept the money. If it was an undercharge, sure as heck they'd come after me for it. Gov't at work for you.

I always have bought in New Jersey, so being I live in Staten Island, the dealership always says registration is estimated, but never had a problem.

Your 'deal' is an agreed upon price PLUS TT&L. You owe the DMV fees, whatever they end up being.

How did you end up paying 60K for a non-Raptor F150? Unless you paid MSRP.

Just happened to me a few weeks ago. I wound up not having to pay it. Got a song and dance from the salesperson that she wasn't gonna be paid for the deal and "blah blah." It was their error, not an estimate. If they estimated the fees, maybe I'd feel differently, but they collected for VA when my bill of sale clearly states MD on it. I just explained that I didn't feel like I should be responsible for their error and the manager agreed. He waived it and apologized for the delay. Can't hurt to call them and ask how it happened.

Could not get the dealer to repair my 16 lariat doors because no parts were available BS. Funny how Social Media works in getting a unsolvable problem solved. My brother posted a video of the door not staying closed on one of his social media pages. Local dealer responded to the post asking to see the truck and fix the issue. He responded not his truck but his brothers truck. Next morning got a call as to when the truck was available for repair and it was fixed this time. Shaming a dealer on Social Media may be a good tool, sometimes our only tool to get the word out on the scams and unsavory practices that some dealers use. Would call the dealer and ask why, how come, what the hay, not enough profit in the deal to cover this amount, then drop the line posting this on my social media for others to see how you run your dealership after the sale. Good luck. Never had this happen in over 20 vehicle purchases but live in the state of Wisconsin where we must pay the Governor first, second, third, fourth and so on on any vehicle purchase.

I would just think of it this way-- if they owed you $42 you would want it-- so whats the difference? You can bet if they found the error in your favor you would be getting a check. Just saying
