Before I let the monkey's tear my truck up and try to fix it with duct tape.... I'd just as soon let it burn to the ground, I have insurance, and a $50 deductible, -0- fks given

The rework procedure is very well documented (8 pages) with color photos to include a video the techs can watch of the entire recall being performed.

I would not hesitate to allow the dealer to perform the recall.

As was already mentioned there aren't any OEM parts required other than tape that is obtained locally.

Nothing to worry about, except the guy that doesn't care about your property, and breaks parts, scratches parts, and just in general doesn't care because he is not making anything on warranty work and he feels he is worth more than what he is getting paid.... at least that's how it was when I worked in a dealership. And no, I wasn't that guy, I actually liked warranty work, especially the warranty delams, I must have painted at least 500 F150's in the late 80's early 90's... good times.

How much time is allocated for the recall work?

Don't replace the pretensioners that throw sparks... Just pull out the insulation

So, Ford themselves are stating that sparks from the pretentioner is the problem.

Let’s not deal with the source of the problem. Let’s just put duct tape on the carpet around the area and hope for the best.

Might be right up there with their failed frozen door latch recall.

I wonder if new trucks on the assembly line are getting an improved pretensioner.

Official recall calls for 3M 3340 foil tape see here:
https://www.lowes.com/pd/3M-2-5-in-W...C-Tape/4009889
or Nashua® 324A

Dealers were instructed to purchase the tape themselves via lowes, home depot or amazon. This is a delivery hold so yes dealers would be smart to fix their own first since they cant sell until they do....2015-2018 MY Regular Cab with Back Panel Taping:

Remove sound deadener from B-pillar trim, remove debris, and apply foil tape to carpet edge and back panel edge
2015-2018 MY Regular Cab Without Back Panel Taping:

Remove sound deadener from B-pillar trim, remove debris, and apply foil tape to carpet edge
2015-2018 MY SuperCrew Cab:

Trim sound deadener from B-pillar trim, remove debris, and apply foil tape to carpet edge
