Recalibrating Speedometer on 2018 Ecoboost
Traded the 09 F150 KR in on a 18 XLT FX4 2.7L on Saturday and really would like to put some 275/65/20 KO2s on since the factory Goodyears dont look too good to me. Ive been reading about how the dealer cannot calibrate the speedometer on 2015+ F150s and wanted to see what everyone else is doing. The only speedometer calibrator available right now for the 18s is the hypertech inline. I dont want to go tearing apart my dash and installing that, i much prefer the programmers you plug in, load the data and remove. So im not sure if I should just wait to get new tires until other companies like rough country come out with a calibrator for the 18s or justget the new tires and not have a correct speedo. I feel like having an incorrect speedometer and MPG reader will annoy me shortly after getting tires so Im not sure what to do.
Anyone on here using the inline hypertech calibrator? Any issues with it? I need to ask my dealer if those things will void my warranty.
Any input appreciated.

There's a forscan thread stickied at the top. I just put new wheels, tires, and a lift on my 18 2.7L and I am going to try forscan this weekend. I will put up a tutorial once I get it working properly.

Very simple. I just did this a few days ago on my 2017 3.5 eco with 10speed using Forscan.
1. Get a laptop with Windows
2. Download Forscan and secure a free license
3. Purchase a USB elm327 code reader / writer that is linked in the Forscan thread ($20)
4. Follow links in Forscan thread and watch a couple videos on YouTube showing how to program your f150 (backup your asbuilt files)
5. Follow the link in the Forscan spreadsheet to generate the proper value to input into 726-012-01 in the BCM (recheck my memory).
6. Input values / write and follow the directions from forscan. Check engine wrench light will now be on your dash screen. Start up Forscan again and a do a TCM and PCM relearn . Wrench will disappear and all will be well. Later use your favorite phone app with a GPS to verify that your speedometer matches the speed you are going.
Done... basically all is laid out in the Forscan thread... just need to do a little work to get there. YouTube's videos cleared it up the most.

You can use the 1st method that should be pretty good or the 2nd method which should be more accurate.

Thank you I appreciate it. Reading through the Forscan tutorial really cleared up some of my questions and confusion. Can Ford tell if you changed anything if it is set back to stock before going to the dealer for maintenance?

I’ve got FORScan figured out except it doesn’t list TCM relearn. Only PCM. Does that mean I won’t be able to clear the wrench when I upgrade tires?
