Reasonable price for re gearing and What ratio
Was looking for some input on what is a reasonable price to re gear a 2016 Ford F150 5.0 4X4. I am running a 6inch BDS lift and 35x12.5x20 tires the stock rear gear is a 3.55. What has been the cost to those of you out there that have done this to rear both front and rear of the truck. Plus I would value your input on what gear manufacture and what ratio you went with. My end goal is the go forced induction when the truck comes out of warranty.

Just talked with Jason Briggs of Briggs Automotive here in South Shore, Ky. He made a call to Yukon and they recommended 4:56 gears for the truck. Total cost of parts, and install was going to be 2,000.00. Does this seem about right.

Sounds right to me. I never regeared but few of my buddies did. Most recent was a 2015 GMC 5.3 with 3.08s. He bought the truck used on 35s and the truck ran like ****. He regeared to 4.10s. Parts and labor was $2K.

About $1k per axle is about right. With 35's I sure like the 4.10's.

Whatever ratio you decide on, make sure you use FRPP gears..

$2000 sounds about right. I paid just under $2000 for my fronts and rears.
For ratio, personally I'd suggest 4.56. Modern trucks with overdrive will still keep the RPM's low even at highway speeds. You can use the calculator below to check it out:

I have 4.88 gears with 37's, and I'm still under 2,000 RPM at 65mph.
As others have said, if you go 4.10, you can use Ford gears. 4.56 you'll need to go aftermarket.
Equally as important as the gear manufacturer, if not more, is the skill and experience of the installer. It's is super-important to use someone who does gears all the time. You don't just slap in gears. There's an art to it. Make sure you find an installer that does gears very frequently.

Got the truck geared I went with 4:56 and could not be happier. The truck feels like its got a bigger motor in it. thanks agin to all you guys for the advice and guidance.
