I've noticed this as well with a full tank. You would figure they would put it on the passenger side since there's a lone driver much of the time on the driver's side, and that could even it out a bit. Over 200lbs of fuel and 240lbs of driver makes for a lot of weight on one side... However, having the filler on the driver's side is convenient except at busy Costco pumps where hardly anyone goes to the right-side-filler pumps.

I placed road master active suspension (RAS) on my 2015 Screw with a 36 gal tank and it helps keep my truck level when the gas tank is full . It also upped the payload a few hundred poundsRear of truck not level 36 Gal. tank-photo704.jpgRear of truck not level 36 Gal. tank-photo20.jpgRear of truck not level 36 Gal. tank-photo574.jpg

What is a right side filler pump? Can't people just drive the opposite direction?

You know, that's a good point. I bet most of the time these trucks have only the driver in it. It would have made more sense to put the tank on the right side to compensate.

Not at Costco. It is one way only.

I always go to the right side pumps, line is often non-existent there. Hose reaches over any vehicle including the truck, and on the truck the hose can rest on the tonneau cover. On my Fusion I hold it the entire time.

Absolutely. Ford does this with some of their smaller passenger cars. As for the truck? There must be a legitimate reason for the tank's placement on the driver side.

The exhaust system might weigh half of what the smaller, 23-gallon tank when full might weigh... 23 gals @ 6.3 lb per = 144 lbs. The entire single exhaust system after the headpipes collector might weigh 50 lbs, if that... leaving a difference of just under 100 lbs fuel heavy on the driver side. Not enough to be concerned with when most of these trucks feature a 6800# payload package. Perhaps the 36 gallon tank was an afterthought to the original setup. Who knows.

I have the 23 gallon tank and would like to add fuel storage capacity. If I did I'd like to put it on the passenger side; perhaps a 15 to 20 gallon affair, but the exhaust would have to be relocated somewhat.
