Rear parking assist sensor failing after applying plastic protectant???
Has anyone ever had the Back-up or Rear Park Assist sensors fail or error out after applying plastic protectants? I applied Croftgate Rejuvenator to all the plastic bits on the outside of my truck and got an error tone this morning, when putting the truck in reverse. Although it worked fine yesterday, it was raining today and maybe the combination of the shinier surface and the rain drops on the sensors set them off. I have never had that happen before! After wiping them off, the system was again working proprerly.

And that means what? They all still work. It was just after apply protectant and getting rain drops on them, may have affected the radar return due to increased reflectivity. After buffing them a bit they no longer error on me. I don't think I will be running to the dealership to get all new sensors just because there is a new(er) model out. But thanks for the heads up!

You posted about having problems with the sensors after you applied a chemical to them. tmcolegr was nice enough to reply and offer advice and you got snarky (And that means what?). If they all still work what's the problem and why did you bother to bring it up?
Next time you post please advise us what type of responses you want so that we don't make the same error.

Not being snarky. I posted to see if any one experienced this specific issue before. His response alluded to me changing them out for a later model when I stated that they still work.

To be fair my post was about having the system give a false error after cleaning and applying a plastic/vinyl protectant to the sensor. And yes the system fixed itself after wiping them off and buffing the surface a bit. There were no pertinent or relevant replies to my original question.
Thanks.
Thanks.

If you're applying products to the sensors it tells me that you must have some fading. I've had really good luck with 303 Protectant. It seems harmless to use and does a great job protecting from fading. My 2 year old truck still looks like new on all these materials.
