Default Rear end wheel hop

I recently installed 295/60r20 ridge grapplers. Love them but ever since I installed them the rear end hop has been amplified.

I went from only getting the hop with stocks on large bumps to feeling it on small/medium bumps. The large ones now feel almost like I will lose control if I'm not ready for it.

I've seen some say new rear struts, others say rear sway bar, and others say traction springs.

Just wanna get people opinions on what worked for them to minimize this. I would rather not do all of them if I can avoid it?

Hmm didn't think of that. I'm only running 40. What's everyone else running with these? I figured it was the thicker less absorption tire

Definitely swap rear shocks. I did it on my '16 to BOSS when I only had 3,995 miles on the truck. Exact mileage came from a spreadsheet I have showing maintenance items. Lol. I don't remember mileage like that, I'm not TOTALLY crazy... But definitely a night and day difference in my opinion. My rear end seems way more planted than before, now if I could justify shelling out around $800 for boss coilovers...

35 psi = 2125 lb
That's more than the wheel is rated for.

Maybe a pair of Bilstein 4600 for the back?

One member here put the 5560-A Springs from a 6500 GVWR Truck on a 7000 GVWR Truck and said it made a big difference.

To be honest I don't have any of the choppiness you guys complain of with stock 17's. 6500 GVWR with OEM FX4 Shocks. Im guessing its a combination of lighter springs, lighter tire/wheel, taller and softer sidewall and a slightly stiffer than standard shock.

Not sure where your getting that it's over loaded? Rear end wheel hop-photo203.jpg most actually run 50psi in summer. I'm only running 40.

My truck is also an fx4 and with the stocks (even with the 20's) the rear hop was nothing to worry about. Only happened on hard core bumps. But with these new tires it needs to be addressed.

I'll look into those belstiens, I remember seeing a thread about them a while back

X2....you shouldn't have to throw a pile of parts at a new truck to get acceptable handling.

Trucks sometimes wheel hop from no load in the bed. Put a couple of hundred pounds in the back and report back.

I didn't intend to imply it was overloaded.
I was just pointing out that even dropped to 35 psi the tires are still rated at 2125 lb which is more weight than the wheels are rated for. Why put more pressure in the tire unless you desire a stiffer sidewall?
