Default Rear end slection.

Hi.

I've been trying to figure this out with no success

What rear axle comes std on 4x4 F150's today? Is it a 8.8" or the 9.75"?
What options give you the 9.75" locked rear axle? I can only see on the "build it" part of ford.com that the high payload package gives a 9.75" gearset... I would have thought that the max-tow package would give you the same.

Does anybody know?

Thanks.
Runar.

Not quite true. It depends on the motor. The 3.5 ECO will always get a 9.75. The 5.0 will get 9.75 if you have a 3.73.

I’ve got a 2.7 RCSB with 3.73 locker. I am not sure which one I have. It doesn’t seem to be any different than the 3.55 that was on my SC 2.7.

Unless verified I wouldn't count on it. I never verified on the diesel myself. If someone here doesn't know for certain your best bet is to look at them on the lot. The difference is obvious from behind the truck.
