Default Reacquired Vehicle Ordering

Has anyone here had their current vehicle Reacquired and ordered a new one? My current 2016 is a lemon and through the program I special ordered a 2018 Lariat. The order process is a bit different than you would do for a purchase, but literally NO ONE involved has any information for me.

My dealer submitted my order request to the Reacquired Vehicle department and on 3/26 I received confirmation Ford approved the order. But no order number, no vin number, not even a confirmation sheet. Nada.

4 weeks later I have literally nothing but an email from my RAV specialist from 3/26 saying Ford approved the order. To make things worse, I don’t even know what the $$$ will be until Ford issues a vin.

If you have been down this road, when did you received your order number, or vin, or SOMETHING to help you sleep at night?

Thanks

I cant help you with the specific rodering issue, but I can tell you I am currently dealing with the Ford Reacquired Vehicle Department (not even Ford, its Concentrix, contracted by Ford). over 3 weeks ago, my 2017 F150 was approved as a lemon. The "case manager" has got to be literally the dumbest person I have ever dealt with. They sent me a link to manage everything through this process, including all document uploads called MyFordHelp. I have uploaded all requested documentation. I have picked out the replacement. I have provided all invoices. Every time I try to call "Marguerite", Im met with silence on the other end. She keeps asking for documents, even though they are all shown in the uploaded documents. She says, I cant proceed until I get your signed customer letter. I reply, its signed and uploaded. Dont you see it? Oh yeas LOL, THERE IT IS LOL. (im not laughing) Ok then all i need is your GAP contract. I reply, it too has been uploaded. Is it not there on your end? Let me see....hmmmm. OH THERE IT IS LOL. These people are the lowest of the low.
I ask what kind of timeframe im looking at getting an answer and all she says is, well ill be working on customer letters this week. WTF, that wasnt my question. Asked for a supervisor, Asked the supervisor if I can get someone that is semi lucid and capable of critical thinking. Super tells me its IMPOSSIBLE to assign a different case manager...

My vehicle was approved as a buy back in early March. I elected to do the MSRP to MSRP swap... and I’ve regretted it ever since.

im hoping someone on here has SOME knowledge to the ordering process through RAV. I literally feel like nothing is happening and they are just stringing me along until my lemon law period expires in July.

If you've already submitted the documentation and Ford has approved of the buy back, the lemon law period expiration is null now. Just make sure to keep copies of all of the documents and emails Ford has sent you. As to why a new VIN hasn't been provided yet, I am not entirely sure.

Nice to know I have company. I started this on 2/20. My Case Manager and Supervisor were both replaced almost 3 weeks ago, so they started at the very beginning. There is no like vehicle in stock to use for replacement numbers, so that was another joke. In the end I am now awaiting numbers on what is approved for $$ on a replacement. Seems there is no like Truck in inventory, I would have to order my replacement. This department is a joke, and it sounds like getting a replacement on custom order will be impossible (thank you for post)!! I had pretty much given up on a replacement and decided for my situation the only way forward will be a refund. I am pretty sure from what you said it will be very expensive for a replacement versus getting the refund dollars. In my case the refund is about $13k. I cannot see any way a replacement will make financial sense.

I expect I am probably looking at another month maybe two before I get the $$ approved on buying my truck and the refund check in my pocket. I will write up this entire process to forward to Executives at both Concentrix and Ford Customer Care. It has cost them a minimum of $3k in wasted dollars. I have been without my truck for a total of 3 months with 2 of those months a complete waste of time. Sorry for the rant but I think you are in for nothing but more pain! I would try to work it on the Dealer side as Concentrix probably has no clue. The only way I have ever gotten any response from Concentrix is calling Ford Customer Care. The two times I have done that I magically got calls the same day!!

Did you guys get legal help on this, or just DIY? While mine doesn't qualify for Buyback, or Replacement due to miles, it does qualify for DV, which I am using a lawfirm for. They are no cost to me as long as I pursue it, if I decide to say F it and trade or sell then I would owe legal fees, but when all is said and done, there are no legal fees that I would owe, the car company pays for it all.

As soon as we retain an attorney it’s considered litigation and the RAV process ceases. If you are interested in a straight buy out, that is your best option. In my case, I’m saving a few thousand by doing an MSRP trade.

apparently ford is good at straight buyout

My issue is similar. Ford will show zero good will in an msrp swap... If your new msrp is $732 more than your existing truck they will charge you that plus mileage, even on an exchange of collateral which is bogus. Why I should have to pay $1800 out of my pocket for 4000 miles on my vehicle that was a pile of crap is beyond me... The case manager is useless. Any communication cycle take a solid 4 business days, even if you need a single simple question answered.

Im going with the straight buyback refund, i dont want to mess with doing a swap as i dont trust dealers. im gonna get my cash in hand and decide what direction im going. plus with the exchange you arent eligible for any discounts .

The discounts are based on what you already got. Its calculated with the straight difference between msrps. If you got 12k off your truck, your loan doesnt change at all. If the truck you pick to replace it is more, you pay the difference from the MSRP on the window sticker. So if you got a 16 for 40K that had an msrp of 51k, and the 18 replacement has a sticker of 51K, your loan stays the same. They literally just put the new vin on the loan. If your total financed was 45k for 60 and you made 10 payments at 500, you paid down the loan 5k, (no iterest figured for ease, but if interest it works the same way.) Now you get the replacement, they change the vin # and you still owe your 40K, and your term is 10 months to the lesser... This is called an Exchange of Collateral.
