How did it look like too much work? It should mount right up. Then a matter of hooking up 4 wires. Three to existing wires for the original tail light and one new one for the running lights? Was there more then that too it? I did the same thing to my 2013 and it was super easy. The harness plugged right in, and then splice one wire to run to a tail light for running light power. Even if it didn't plug right it, it's only 4 wires. Just curious what made it look like too much work.

Just to try it out, I unplugged the first two plugs on the old one and plugged them into the new one. Only one cargo LED lit up. Granted, the series of plugs are different so that might be the reason that didn't work.

The plug from the light housing to the truck is only three wires. It's four on the new one. So not only would you have to run a power wire, you would also have to try to find the Raptor four wire plug that the light housing plugs into inside the cab of the truck. I don't feel like running a random power wire, and trying to find a new plug, I was hoping for a plug and play.

Nice cant wait to see if it can be made to work.

My Raptor tailgate applique will be here Thursday/Friday. Ordered my Raptor steering wheel Monday, hopefully with the above news, it won't be long before it's here. Door seal plates went on last Saturday. The red in the sill plates matches my Race Red nicely.

I'm financing all this by working on the wife's 57 Nomad. She was willing to pay a shop to do the work, so I said she could pay me. Rebuilding complete front suspension, installing A/Cond, new radio, exhaust, etc.etc. I've always done the work on her cars for nothing, but now I want to spend money on my truck. Just recently got her PT Cruiser back together, still a few things to put on it yet. Should be able to afford the Raptor exhaust soon.

Now before someone says she does the housework and cooking....I have been doing the cooking and some of the housework as she is still working and I am retired. I had to come up with a way to afford all these extras and she agreed we could do it this way.

Most difficult job I've done....lol, soooo I work on our cars, the house, my man cave, and change diapers....lol ahhhhhhhhhh I wanna re enlist sometimes BUT it's rewarding...at times. Just don't have alot of free time these days but have like 5 separate jobs going on with modifying my F150.

My wife is a CPA and works at a credit union. I, too, am retired military. Retired in 94. Don't change diapers though, my sons are mid 40s. I have too many projects going on right now, 50 Ford sedan, 50 Ford F1, and 55 Ford gasser. Don't get much time to deal with those, as the wife wants her's done first. She has the Nomad, 63 Valiant, 01 PT Cruiser and 03 Mini Cooper (daily driver). I sneak in time on my 16 XLT when ever I can. Well, time for bed if I'm going to get anything done tomorrow.
