Default Better FORScan descriptions?

I made my first FORScan mod today, disabling the auto start/stop on my brand new 2018 XLT screw 5.0.

It was a little bit scary when I hit "Write" on my changes, but everything seems to be ok. There's a little "A" with a slash through it now on my gauge cluster screen, but I can live with it.

I've been getting familiar with the spreadsheet with all the available code changes, but I'm not sure what the majority of them even mean. I can make an educated guess on some of them based on the name, but it would be really nice if there was a plain English explanation of what each option is. Does such a document exist?

Did you do all 3 settings. I have not seen the A slash on anyone I've seen do it.

Nothing to worry about if you backed up all your modules as-built data. Easily reversible if you did that and saved them to a usb stick. The A with the slash just means its turned off. Also, Forscan is all done by developers/computer hackers that have volunteered their time and effort. I don't expect anything from them, especially more informed descriptions of changes you can make. What they have already done and still doing is amazing and add the fact they have shared it with the public makes it even more special.

I did the second optional setting IPC, but the truck gave me an error message when I turned it off then back on as instructed. Don't remember exactly what the message said, but was "something not found" or whatever with an OK button under it.

Might try all 3 settings tomorrow. Do they all 3 need to be done?

Oh trust me I'm not complaining! It's amazing that this program even exists for us to use. I was just hoping there was a little more documentation out there that I wasn't seeing.

Restoring from the backup worked like a charm. I'm just glad the engine isn't shutting off anymore!

Smile Forscan

There is a dedicated Forscan thread that is a sticky at the top of this page and if you want Forscan questions answered you would have much better results if you posted there. Livinitup has dedicated a tremendous amount of time to making and editing the spreadsheet and instructions for using the software. There is also a lot of knowledgeable friendly people that frequent that thread that are more than willing to help out fellow Forscan enthusiasts. If you do as Livinitup recommends and read the first post (and all the links in it) fully you will be able to do most anything you want from the spreadsheet without any help. But if you get your back up against the wall it's nice to have people who will respond quickly and help you out. If you read this fully you will have all of your questions answered and have a much better understanding of Forscan. This was meant to be helpful and not offend.

All 3 do not need to be done but I suspect if you do the A will go away.
