Default Question for owners with push-button start

Is the paint flaking off your button? My 2015 has only 18k miles and the pain is coming off already. Very noticeable at night since the button is back-lit. Im wondering if the bumper-to-bumper warranty will cover it?

no issue on my 16.

Check with the dealer to see if it's covered. These shouldn't have an issue. Do you have rough hands or some chemicals that you work with that could be causing the issue? Oil, gas, paint remover, etc could be damaging the button.

Off insect repellent is a notorious culprit of stuff happening like mentioned here.

I have also had bad experiences with upholstery protectants such as Armor-All or 303. Basically, anything with any grease in it will soften or damage painted trim pieces. This even includes normal greases from your skin after being transferred by touch. This is one of the reasons why it is so disappointing to see so many painted trim pieces in trucks costing so much...

i use 303 on my dash specifically because it leaves a nice matte (like new) finish, instead of the greasy shiny look armor all and several other "protectants" leave. no problems here.
