Question about options (2017)
I'm in the market a new 2017 F150 XLT V8 4x4 Sport 302A. I've found a couple that I like with the options I want. But there seems to be a discrepancy with the window sticker and what Ford's build site allows. The sticker says the truck comes with the tow package, FX4, and 3.55 locking diff. The Ford site won't let me build a truck like that. When I select the $50 option for the new gears, it forces me to remove the tow package. Leaving the 3.31 rear end. Clicking on the information button for FX4 explicitly states 3.31 for 5.0 or 3.5 and 3.55 for 2.7.
My salesman (who I've been dealing with strictly over email) couldn't answer that for me.
Is it simply that the Ford build site isn't gospel and to trust in the window sticker?

I didn't think it was possible to get 3.55 with the V8 with the tow package. Only 3.55 in the Ecoboost.
My 3.5 EB has Max trailer tow package and includes the 3.55

I'd bet the window sticker is correct, check sticker on door jam and verify. If this is what your wanting buy it. you can probably get that truck for around 40,000 easy especially with the 18's being delivered. Good luck.

Deal with FX4 or
Deal with buying and selling wheels.
BTW quoted me at 40 and some change. No dealer fee.

After consulting the 2017 F-150 Order Guide, the 3.55 RAR is correct. It's listed in Axle Availability as being compatible when ordered on a 145" WB/5.0/4x4 with either FX4 or Trailer Tow package. Also note that it's a $50 upcharge on your window sticker, which makes it a standalone option, not included with the FX4 or Trailer Tow, which IIRC, would include the 3.31 RAR.
Hope this helps.

I had 18s on my 2011, then put 20s on it, no big change there, and got the FX4 package on my 15, again with 20s, and it's like buttah.
Granted, if you hit some potholes or rough patches, you feel it, but nothing too bad.

If you get a 33" tire on 20's the ride is a little smoother than the stock 32"s. The big advantage of 20's is they have a shorter sidewall, which for cornering and handling is generally better and more responsive.
