I have Sync, not Sync3, and my phone is paired to my audio system. When using Bluetooth audio Apple Maps will interrupt the audio to announce directions. So far so good.
The other day i was listening to the radio, phone paired and maps going. The audio from my phone would not interrupt radio to announce directions nor would it play on the phone.
Anyone else have this happen? Any way to correct?

I don't think this is a problem with Sync. It just plays what your phone sends to it. This is a setting in your phone. I use Google Maps instead of Apple despite having and iphone (I think Google Maps works better). But in Google Maps there's an option on how the prompts work so I assume the same in Apple maps. Nevermind. I reread what you wrote and mine does that too when not listening to music from my phone. You need to turn on hands free profile in Apple Maps. It will basically call your car to announce the prompts. That works for me with Google Maps. https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT204242
