Default Question about 285/65/20s KO2

Hello,

I just recieved my 285/65/20 bfg ko2s and I was going to have the dealer mount and balance since they are working on my truck. However, when I told them the size and my truck currently doesn't have a level they haven't insisted that the tires will not fit. I have read others that have not had levels and ran the same size with no issues but I just wanted to be sure before I install them. I would hate to have to admit that they dealer was right if they install them and they rub. The tires look great and I got a bit nervous when I saw how big they actual are. Any help would be great. I have a Lariat 502a with the 5.0 and fx4.

I've read a couple posts on this size and some have said it rubs a bit without a level. It seems like most that are running this size have a level/lift of some kind.

If you don't install a level these will rub, even on factory rims, especially at full lock in reverse as you back out of your driveway.

Either some are mistaken or forgot some prior posts, there are members who put these on stock 20 with no issues full lock, etc

I changed my wheels to a more aggressive offset, and I have to force it to rub - I'm fine in reverse, full lock, etc so you should not have an issue

Post back with your results to help clear up the confusion

Well I guess I'll give it a shot. I plan on leveling it but I haven't decided on 2 or 2.5. I guess I better get that figured out pretty quick.

Yeah - It might work but at 285/65, I'd feel more comfortable with a level.

Actually OP you were replying to one of the threads I referred to

Call a parts department and ask them to give you the offset off the Lariat wheel, the Platinum 20 is a 44
