Thumbs down PVD Chrome Wheels

I am sure there is already many threads about this but who else has 2015 and newer 20" PVD chrome like wheels flaking "chrome" off around the outside of the wheel? I love my F150 but am super disappointed that first, the "chrome" is flaking off and second, that Ford won't provide any assistance in getting these corrected. About the only option I have now is to either live with the "chrome" flaking off, which looks awful, or buy new wheels. Very disappointing!!

for some reason the 20" wheels are more prone to it. I have a coworker with the same problem and ford said they wont touch it. I have the 18" wheels and wax them when i rotate them and they look brand new.

I'm seeing this on my '17 20"ers now. I'll be making the dealership send pics to Ford on the next oil change since I'm in warranty still.

looks like the edge was damaged when installing tires and they've flaked from that

These are the original tires. I am needing to get new tires and I know that it is going to make the coating flake off even more.

I would come up with 4 spares or put the truck on jack stands for a few days and have the original wheels powder coated.

I almost bought a set of these. At the last minute, I found tons of people having these issues, and backed out.

P. That sure looks like it’s probably from tires being mounted off and on the Rims! I wish they would make those spreader tips out of some kind of hardened rubber to keep from damaging rims like that...just a hunch seen before
