Default Purchase Advice... 2016

I am about to go in to purchase a 2016 next week, having done my research, hoping to hear from others that HAVE ordered... What should I ask for that you are glad you did? What shouldn't I ask for? Anything important I should know or ordering tips?

My build looks like this..

2016 Lariat, Supercrew, 4x4, 6.5 Bed, 3.5EB
Options
502A
FX4 Off-road Package
MAX Trailer Tow Package
Twin Panel Moonroof
Wheel Well Liners
Adaptive Cruise Control

It looks like there isn't one anywhere in my spec, so i'm going to factory order, they tell me it's 6-8 weeks. I'm in Canada just north of Toronto.

My only real advice is to verify the actual order with the dealer. My dealer missed one of the options that I had selected. I placed my order with a dealer in Toronto and was told 6-8 weeks, as well, but the truck arrived in 4 weeks.

From your options, have you considered adding the tailgate step and/or the technology package?

You are getting the max trailer tow make sure you order the bigger mirrors if you want them they were a separate order from max tow on my build and are a much better mirror in my opinion also the bigger tank but i think thats standard in Canada. The tailgate step and side bed steps are also nice. Good luck with the order

I agree definitely make sure it has the 36 gal tank and I am glad I got the tailgate step as well. I would probably pass on the wheel liners and order the huskies, from my research they provide better coverage and were cheaper than ford's, but I have yet to get a set and I'm down south so not sure what prices for them are up your way.

Default spray-in bedliner

If you have not finalized the deal get them to throw in a bedliner for you and some floor mats. Good luck with the purchase.

All great advice...

The Heavy Duty Payload isn't compatible with the FX4 Offroad.. which is fine.. I want FX4...

I passed on the step and mirrors but - maybe I will add them.

Large tank is standard here...

Interesting about wheel liners -- i'll look... Are the husky ones bigger/better? If so I will go that route.

As for bedliner, I want Line-X - the dealer doesn't do it (distance too far) so I will handle that, and the floor mat's I for SURE want WeatherTech mats, they might be able to supply me.

Glad to see that 6-8 weeks might be longer than reality!

Thanks everyone.

Also in Ontario here, special ordered mine and picking it up tomorrow, was quicker delivery than I thought.

Go over the spec's carefully, there is a lot that can be missed. All 4x4's in Canada come with 36gl. tank so no worries there, Definitely get the step...$400 you'll be glad you did.

From my experience, dealerships aren't all that open to give away free bee's, like pulling teeth but you could manage a box liner maybe. They are very keen on you giving them top marks on post purchase survey so I'd not start off by asking for stuff, wait till end of negotiations. Good Luck!

should be able to get fx4 and heavy duty payload. I think its the 502a that's not compatible with it. have to go 500a to get it. but should be able to keep fx4
