pulling loaded 6x10 trailer is pia!!!
 

What would make my 2017 f150 screw fx4 3.5eco shake/bounce so bad. Feels like a very bad out of round tire when pulling side by side loaded on trailer. When empty, everything is smooth as normal with truck. I have it loaded with honda pioneer 1000-5 sxs. Will a longer trailer help this or is there something that I can add to the truck suspension to eliminate all together

You may have too much or not enough tongue weight.

Poor loading can cause these problems, most of the weight should be over the axle along with checking tongue weight. I have a 6X12 enclosed I tow with my 2016 with no problems.

I'm not sure about exactly what is shaking and bouncing on your truck, but I had an intermittent steering shimmy/ flutter when I was pulling a 17' trailer loaded with salt treated lumber after I first got my truck (see sig). But, I finally decided it was the soft spring setup, and corrected it with helper springs. They stiffen the ride a little, but I haven't had that problem again. Just relating what happened in my case. Yours could be a different matter, of course.

tongue weight of trailer or truck? the sxs just barely fits on the 6x10 so no doubt that alot of the weight is on and forward of the axle. may have to look into getting longer trailer. Just not sure how much longer. Was hoping a 12 would help but really dont want longer than 14

Have you verified it's not the trailer that's the problem? Could easily have tire issues/bent axle with the trailer which transfer to the truck.

How's the tongue weight?

The only tongue weight that exists is that of the trailer. Max is 500 pounds on the F-150 unless you have a weight distribution hitch.

The vehicle you are towing is around 1,700 pounds per what I found, plus the weight of the trailer. You want 10 - 15% of the total weight on the tongue to pull properly.

It scares me when I see questions like this... Please do some reading and educate yourself on towing.

I found myself in Connecticut and needing a trailer to haul some stuff back to Maine. The only place I could find a trailer on a Sunday was Lowe's. I ended up buying a 5x10 utility trailer with 13" tires. It sucked hauling it on the highway for 300 miles because from 55mph and up it shook the whole truck. I didn't have much weight, just some boxes with household stuff in them. A couple of days after I got home, I took it to my local Tire Warehouse and had them balance the trailer tires. They were quite far off. Now it tows nice and smooth at any speed.

Got one of these when I started pulling my household items from IL to AL. My 6x12 can be loaded with up to 2100lb, and I always worried about the tongue and axle weight. This helped ease my mind. My stx drug the 8" so I cut about 2" off of it. It'll still tap the ground a time or 2 coming out of a driveway.
