Question PTM mud flaps

I've seen several threads on mud flaps and lots of great pics.

Has anybody painted their mud flaps to match their truck? I'm looking at the no-drill rigid type flaps and wondered what they would look like on our trucks.

It might look ok for awhile but I imagine the paint would get chipped off from rocks, ice chunks and road debris on a daily driven truck.

Ive seen trucks with PTM flaps and it looks really good. If you live on a dirt road in the country, might not be a good idea. Otherwise I would go for it. If you're really worried about chips, maybe see if the can paint the backs only?

That's what I was planning on doing; backs only.

Why?

I cannot visualize this looking good. If someone's got a pic, please show and see if I can see the light.

Haven't seen it on F150's but on plenty of SUV's. Since my truck is a "sport" model with PTM bumpers and door handles, I think it would go well. In addition, I'm thinking of having the grille PTM.

The mud flaps help us reduce a lot of cleaning work.
