Default Problem with using LED tailgate light bar 2015 F150

I bought a LED tailgate light bar for my 2015 King ranch. I got it installed and noticed that the truck sees it as a trailer and turns off the blind spot and shows an active trailer. I would guess that it would get mad if I then plugged in a trailer too. So my question is has anyone tried to figure out a way around this? A bypass of some sort? Would tapping the taillights get me what I want or will it cause the same issue and I wasted $50. It would really accent the LED's that are on the truck nicely. I've searched the net but could not dig up this issue. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Do a search. It's been discussed a few times on here. I don't think anyone has come up with a solution.

This seems to be the solution. You have to hardwire it in to the tail lights. I have the same issue, but have not installed yet.

I had the same issue. I tied my bar into the tailights and I have not had a single problem since.

Sure. Just tie it into the taillights. If you don't want to do it yourself, a decent audio shop can do it for you.

I have the same problem with my 2015 larat but with led lights on the rear where the heck do you tie into. The connector on the light pack when you pull the rear light out is a 12 pin and of course there are no bulbs. I have the wiring diagram for the connector but will connecting there cause an problem with the computer

Unhappy Tailgate Lightbar installed on F150 King Ranch (2017(

I have had several people "try" to solve the problem, which simply stated the brake and signal operate on the same wires. Even tried to run wires from the front blinkers to the rear; that resulted in the stop lights on the bar not working. I am told a splitter is needed, but have no idea where to get one, and who has experience enough to install it with confidence. Anything I learn I will share; please do the same at: john.t.hanson1@gmail.com; thank you
