pro backup ? class action?

I don't believe that ford ever designed it to use only with a open trailer and the view from the camera. Are you not able to use your mirrors to see around a boxier rv type trailer but still use the dial to steer left or right?

Thats pretty amazing! I was trying to figure out how to stay centered in my lane and you were backing up trailers.

Wait, are you trying to back up your tent trailer while only looking at the back up camera? Not using your mirrors or anything?
And you think ford is stupid?

I'm a bit confused. The Pro Backup Assist camera looks at a sticker on the trailer to operate properly, and you put in the proper measurements into the system. The system has nothing to do with you being able to see where the back of your trailer is - clearly any trailer that is higher means the camera can't see behind it (no X-Ray feature). One needs trailering mirrors to properly see the back corners of a trailer, and you can buy third party cameras that attach to your trailer's back to help you.
Where does Ford say they provide that?

Certainly you have tow mirrors if you knew you would be towing a box trailer right? I really don't understand your frustration. The feature will work for you but you can't just look at the screen like a video game.....with any type of trailer!! I have not towed my boat yet as I keep it wet...but I did hook up my trailer for grins and giggles to see how the feature worked. I thought it worked just fine. Sure, I could see what was behind the boatless trailer on the screen but I used my mirrors 90 percent of the time anyway.
I'm not going to get into the "if you can't back a trailer up on your own than you shouldn't tow one" argument. I can back up ok. I'm no expert and don't give a flying fk that I'm not. I have survived without the feature this far in life. I find, so far, the system to work just as advertised. It is a TOOL to help you when backing up. It still requires that you use all the same common sense rules and procedures of backing up. You simply are turning a **** with one hand instead of steering wheel. The system makes the small or large adjustments to the wheel.
Sorry you didn't research it better, but suing Ford for a feature that works as designed....good luck.

Yes, of course, a lawsuit is the answer.
Especially attacking a system that's going to be installed on millions of trucks.
Even if you did win a class action suit, your loss would be stopping progress on a really cool technological advancement by ford, and you'd maybe receive about $3 in the mail.
