Default Prismatic Powder

I've exhausted my searching for new wheels for my truck and decided to keep what I have. My plan is now to have them "tinted" NOT PAINTED and to install 1.25" spacers. I DO NOT want black wheels and would like to retain the two tone look of my 20" STX wheels. Anyone have experience with a tinted transparent powder coat? It's difficult for me to gauge what color I'm going to need considering that there are 3500+ of them!!!! (Most of which are not transparent.) I don't mind the $750 cost of having my wheels powder coated, just want the look I anticipate. ~think smoked to a tint about half way between stock and black~

Here is the website to the powder coat:

Fairly certain the factory paint must be stripped for the best powder adhesion

Stripping is most assuredly needed and that price sounds like it's on the high side.

i just had a set of 22x12 American force wheels repaired and re powdered for $130/wheel, definitely agree on the $750 being stupid high

$750 is insane for PC, you're going to be close to $1000 once you factor in the spacers. For that money i would definitely get some aftermarkets

Thanks for the replies to this point. According to Color Werks, the place that quoted me, they would indeed need to be stripped if being painted a solid color but not if using a transparent. Their price of $750 was an "out the door" price that required me to only drop the keys and the truck off. They would handle breaking down the tires, TPMS sensors, etc.... and I would get the truck back same day.

I'm not a rich guy but money isn't the deciding factor in this case. I simply haven't found what I'm looking for in an aftermarket wheel. I like my current wheels but would LOVE my wheels if they were tinted a few shades of smoke darker (NOT BLACK) and were pushed out another inch or so.

I understand about just throwing the keys at someone, sometimes you're better off doing that, for one reason or the other.
How about some photos when it's done?
