Nope - My truck does the same thing. I have a tune with a BUNCH of timing in it, especially down low and if I run that tune with any fuel its bad. had tuner take a LOT of timing out of the tune and have been running 91 and the noise comes and goes and it very random. Sometimes I hear it, other times I don't. There is no fix for it to my knowledge. Honestly can probably run e85 and fix it though lol.

The dealer did replace PCV value but made no difference. The seasoned mechanic who test drove claims he never experienced pre ignition knock on recent vehicles. Two trips to dealership to no avail...I'm expected to live with it after paying $53k. Incredible

mine does it when running 87 octane. I just went straight to 93 octane and the pinging stopped. Haven't noticed any since. I might try 89 and see how it does.

Mine did it, switched to 89 and it seems to be gone plus getting better mpg in the city.

Mine did that and I had 5star build me a variable octane tune. I think it might be due to ethanol and winter fuel blend. Basically we have crap fuel these days. I have been running 87 and its been fine. It runs great. Might be a thought.

Mine has been a lot worse here lately especially with 87. I can up to 93 or E85 and it disappears.

I haven't experienced it at all on my '18. One reason I finally made the switch to a new F150 is my '04 with the 5.4 Triton had horrible pre-ignition unless I burned 89+. I never was able to find the cause.
