Default Power train control module recall?

Last week my 2017 F150 started down shifting erratically and eventually would not shift out of 1st gear. Limped into a dealer and they have done their diagnostics. Says I need the lead frame replaced.
I scanned the truck and got a P0720 (output shaft speed sensor).
The dealer also got other codes relating to transmission wiring.

Coincidentally today I received a letter in the mail from Ford that describes a safety recall notice. It describes sudden downshifts to 1st gear. Caused by a power train module problem. There is no repair available yet for this recall.

I asked the dealer if this could be the problem and they said they did not think so but was not sure.

Anyone else have these symptoms and know what codes could be produced by this Powertrain module problem?

I am hesitant to pay over $2000 for a potential recalled item.
thanks

Leadframe failures have been a common problem.

There is nothing wrong with the PCM itself. The likely fix for the PCM will be a reprogramming of how the transmission handles the loss of OSS signal. The real problem is the transmission leadframe and its failure rate. The OSS is an integral part of the leadframe. Ford has yet to determine the actual repairs as you have found out.

They found the correct fix, lead main frame replacement. Ford just didn't want to admit it, since of course it will cost them money to fix their mistakes. Hopefully no one gets hurt in the meantime...
