I have the same exact issue with cold start slow acceleration for my 2018 2.7, only from 3rd to 4th gear. I called 2 different large Ford dealerships, one said to bring it in and they will try to get me a loaner vehicle but no updates are available. Another told me they have 3 weeks of transmission issues stocked up and cant see me until then.

Has anyone else noticed that if in park, you tap the gas but let the rpm settel, then put it in reverse you get two thunks as it goes into gear? Also if you go to reverse after the auto start stop kicked in you get the same two thunks?
Calling some more dealers that are more towards 2hrs away to see if any of them are willing to just due the update without the whole "we have to replicate" dance. The one that says they will do it for $100 is shady as hell and they would be my last option

I asked the service writer about this when getting my oil changed and he said don't worry about it if you are not having any issues.

I had been experiencing the occasional clunks as well as tough shifting when cold, and it became more noticeable as the temps dropped. Since I was ready for my 5,000 mile oil change, I took it into my dealer the night before and asked them to keep it out all night to check the noises/shifting in the morning when cold. They verified the issue, and installed the TSB update.
It is a noticeable and substantial improvement!!
I'm more than a little picky, so I would not call it a 100% improvement ... but well into the upper 90's!!
It's supposed to improve over the next couple of weeks as it adapts and I have seen some slight improvements since day 1.
Cheers!!

As it learns/adapts to my driving style, it definitely improves over time as well, so if you have it done, wait a few weeks before claiming total victory. Driving off the lot, I'd say it was around 80-90% better. I think now, a couple of weeks after it was done, I'm probably in the 97-98% range.

Might have to go throw the shady dealer $100 and get it done this weekend then. Wonder if it will easy how noticeable the downshifts are while braking too. If it does i will have zero complaints with the trans then.
