POLL: fiber cover under engine after oil change?
I have just changed my oil for the first time, and I am wondering whether or not to replace that fiber cover underneath the truck. It is only 4 bolts, but I don't really see it as necessary.
Yes or no, and why.

Mine goes back up.
If you don’t see it as necessary, why ask? Just leave it off.

I put it back and I change oil every 5k. Im at 45k. 2.7, computer says I get 23mpg and I don't baby it but use common sense driving.
Why to get better mileage. How much better? No idea.

I put RCI skid plates on, has easy oil change plate, I see RCI updated to a 2 point instead of 4 point screw bracket, but mine also is bigger plate to get access.
Side note I seen a f150 fiber cover on the exit ramp of a highway.
I wanted shielding so I did the whole kit, my only disappointment is that the RCI plates aren't as wide, probably a foot or so more narrower. Length wise/ strength of steel plates is good. If you have a motorcycle jack that is handy to hold the plates up because the overlapping bolt up of each plate it makes it much easier. First one I tried and at 35lbs or so and limited clearance its kind of challenging to hold up and start threading all the corners, support the radiatior/cooler and using those mounting points.

Only the 4X4 has this. My 2WD has nothing under the engine, you can see the ground. I would say that it's there for off road use since the 4X4's have it so if you don't do serious off roading I don't think it would hurt.
