This kit is kind of hard to pass up for that price. I'm not a huge audiophile so I doubt I would have too much to complain about this upgrade.

Follow the link. I believe you can view the full install instructions also.

Thanks for the suggestions everyone. I will probably just replace the speakers with some of the recs here. I am intrigued by this hideaway. It fits well behind the seat? I have a SCREW. Seems like a solid deal

It's hard mounted to the floor using pre-existing hardware. Not going anywhere.

JBL GTOs...you can thank me later! These are some of the best quality sounding speakers with the best reviews!

It includes a new amp for the factory speakers as well as the sub and the wiring harness is completely plug and play. It takes a few hours to install, but way easier than piecing together a system.

They say it's not compatible with 2018+ with auto stop/start but it works fine for me. I get a little amp noise when the truck first starts and the head unit is firing up, but no issues when the engine stops/starts while driving.
I contacted Kicker regarding the issue with the EcoBoost engines and I was specifically told NOT to install this system on a Ford truck with an EcoBoost engine. I'm going to follow their advice.

With an amp or just straight replacement?

You can of course run with an amp or without...the nice thing about these is that the impedance is 2.5-3 ohms.
The lower the impedance the less power is needed to run them.

The majority of speakers on the market are 4 ohm impedance. And that 1-2 ohms less makes a world of difference!

Now next to these are the Infinity Kappas that are even a little better as they are only 2 ohm impedance.
For those folks who don't want to get into a whole amp installation and just want to upgrade speakers for better sound and volume these are what i recommend.

Keep in mind the JBLs and Infinitys are both made by same company...Harman.

I also have a SCab and have added a small sub behind the rear seat back. Sound is much better with the added lows but I feel that the highs aren’t as crisp as they should be. Do component speakers without an added amp help here as well? Does replacing the pillar tweeters make any difference?

I also changed the front speakers for Alpine S69C models in the stock woofer and Tweeter locations. It's world's better sound. It's still a tad bit Tweeter heavy when you crank it up really loud, but not awful, and you have to really crank it to notice. I had debated an amp, but don't think I'll need to do it after logging with this for the winter.

Edit: forgot to add that I just disconnected the center speaker and don't miss it at all.
