None for me. We went in looking at a loaded Lariat. Initially we looked at a diamond white but the paint was not good. Dealer let my wife drive it for 3 days. We d sat in the Blue Jeans Platinum we have now as it was their showroom truck. I laughed when I saw th price, said nope continue looking at a Lariats. Well they didn't have a color with a lighter interior that she wanted. So he came back out and said, want to do a deal on this Platinum. Sure. Less than the Lariat we're looking at? He came 3 times from the back office to make the numbers work. We got a fully loaded (all options) 15 Platinum for $53 otd. Can't beat that. At the time the Lariat we were looking at was $52 otd.
We love the truck and I don't mind the satin plaque in the back. We liked the KR as well but they were not dealing on those. This is Texas and I think they don't have to try as hard to move KRs.

The brushed aluminum is optional on the King Ranch, and while I have it on my 2016, I'd have loved to forgo it, but the optional 20" wheels a made it a requirement. The same on the Platinum looks better IMO, just because of the type style, but the Platinum wheels are just plain... as in XLT plain... Not for me.

The reason XLT outsells Platinum or Lariats is: Price and value. The "masses" all can't afford Platinums or even Lariats. If the avg median income is around 50K - I don't see a 50K dollar truck being the #1 seller. The 30K dollar trucks will be...
I have a Lariat that I paid 37K for.. I don't feel any less of a human because I don't have a platinum - nor do I feel better than those that have an XLT...
We shouldn't tell those that have platinums what a "waste of money" you just spent - first it's THIER MONEY... Nor should we downgrade those that are in XLT's..
We all drive FORDS... not Maserati's...

Go Ducks!!
When I'm driving down the road and see another f150 coming my way, my first thought is what mods did that guy do on his so i can use mine, not "what trim is that guy driving"
To the OP, no regrets here. If you're regretting a 55k purchase, then you didn't do your due diligence.

My wife's hotter!
Love our platinum. Went looking for a 2016 Lariat to replace our 2011 Lariat but found a brand new 2015 platinum on the lot with less that 100 kms on it. From a oil company deal that fell through when the economy turned bad in Alberta. Otr price of $52k and took the 2011 in trade for $23k. Warranty started when we picked it up middle of August. Let's just say the wife is very happy. Our lariat was nice but the platinum puts it to shame in the details.

Effin New Guys
I'll admit, when I see the giant Platinum tailgates I do wish I had one. If I made 3x what I do per year I would have splurged on one just to have one, despite the fact I'm perfectly happy/content with my base model XL.

To dwyswd and Ryan...
Regretting our purchase has nothing to do with not doing our due diligence. I got the lowest price in our area for what we got...I know our truck probably better than a lot of techs. I did my homework and my research. But how is one supposed to predict that they're going to be treated differently by family and friends because they bought a specific vehicle? We just got back from a trip where we were supposed to split up the costs evenly...and when it came time to pay up the one guy told me he didn't have the money but that it shouldn't matter since I have more than enough to cover it. He's been my friend since HS, so whatever. This was a dumb topic...I figured maybe others had similar issues but apparently not. My whole point is that you pay more for a Platinum and get nothing but flashy trim that makes people think you've got money. I do...but I'm not one to flaunt it and to be honest, never thought my truck would flaunt it for me.

2015 F150 PLATNIUM Anch
Unless you pay for this truck out right , it's a monthly bill like any other item ... In for a dime , in for a dollar . I'm as broke as the next guy and not because I bought a Platnium , my family and friends and those that take the time to know me see this but realize life is short and a touch of nice in ones life can affect others in a good way.
Had a Toyota Tacoma before this at 75.00 less a month and 40.00 a month more in insurance , the gas is about the same but only because I lived in nome while driving the Toyota and gas is over 5.00 a gallon . Guess I'm trying to say yes a person should count pennies but how people perceive you takes more than a nice truck

I always snicker at people who look at a person driving a Porsche, Audi, or Mercedes and say they must be rich. Just like the comments I get from some when I pull up in my King Ranch. Why do the majority of people think you have to be rich to drive something nice. Can some of us bust our buns and save to drive something nice?
I remember hearing years ago the average car payment was over $1,000. I've never, and never will, have a payment like that. When I bought my King Ranch, the salesman said "aren't you going to put down any cash to minimize your payment?" I told hm to wait until he looked up my balance in my trade. Then he said, "it's not too often we see that kind of equity on trades".
If you can afford it, drive the space shuttle!
