Booze, If your grille was an xlt Chrome style I'd take it off your hands. New xlt Chrome grille from Ford is $300 (good guy price) from my local dealer

That is *EXACTLY* what I'm wanting to do. I was just with a friend and we stopped by a Ford dealer just for me to point out the type truck I'm wanting. I was just saying I want to swap the chrome KR grill for a Platinum and paint the small egg crate sections black. I'm planning to order a '16 and thought I could be getting ready but wanted to make absolutely certain everything will still match up on a '16. I'm sure it will but you just never know.

Thanks for the info on taking the thing apart too - I was sorta uneasy about having to mask...

Thanks again!

I was all prepared to mask it off. Really GLAD it came apart fairly easy, made the spraying quick, precise and easy. In 4-6 weeks I will post pics of what it looks like in a ingot silver Lariat. I have only seen one on here done this way, it was a black XLT or Lariat.

ddeevers do you have this installed on your truck yet? Pics please.
That's a good price from Tasca. I would have preferred non camera grille but now that its painted can't tell much difference. My truck shows build starting on Monday 8-17, delivery est 9-13. I will post pics after grille and bumper are installed. Dealer said he would sell me a new chrome bumper for $337.

Yea I forgot you were waiting on a build. I remembered reading that as soon as I read your response. I'll have my grille Wednesday and I will most likely be painting the mesh the same way you did.

What paint did you use?

I'm going to keep my black bumper. I think with a black truck, black bumper and the mesh painted black it will be just enough satin to play off the wheels. Everything else is PTM. I'll probably use plasti-dip on the Ford emblem then trim out the chrome Ford lettering.

I ordered the grille on July 21st. Should have been here July 28th at the latest. Lots of miscommunication and no communication. I had two unanswered emails 3 or 4 days apart. I finally contacted Steve in the Vendor area of this site and asked him to intervene. 2 days after getting him involved and the part was shipped. Tasca is usually on the ball but he was awesome.

I first sprayed it with a rustoleum primer then used several coats of rustoleum flat black.

Looks clean. But it's starting to remind me of the lariat grill sorta.

I get what you're saying about the Lariat grille since it's three bars. The biggest difference is the Platinum grille isn't chrome, it's satin so compared next to each other there is a big difference. Even with the mesh painted black.
