I did a custom Lariat sport chrome grille project. Pic in some other thread (look through my posts).
I had to cut out the grating and other stuff with my Dremel. The mounting holes were still there though
Edit: here you go, still had saved on phone

Anybody changed out their grill and tailgate emblems to black ones? How do they come off? Are they just stuck on or are they bolted on? Any recommendations on where to buy some good ones?

The grill is bolted on from the back....not too hard to reach once you remove the grille and then remove the grille shutter from the back.
The tailgate emblem has two nuts from the back side and isn't much fun. It's bolted to the panel then the panel is attached to the truck leaving the back side of the emblem inaccessible through the access panel on the gate.
You have two options:
Completely remove the big silver panel and hope all the clips survive or,
Work a soft bondo spreader in behind the emblem, slide in a hacksaw blade without the frame and saw off the pins then put the new emblem on with double sided tape.
You can probably guess which choice I made. lol

I got mine from joe1966fairlane on eBay. I've used him several times for other trucks and definitely recommend him.
