yeah, a lot of the things such as these on the Plat were very tempting and I came very close to taking a ruby red 701A when I got my 16. However I really wanted the flame blue again which meant staying with the Lariat Sport 502A. By the time I added all the options it ended up basically the same MSRP as the Plat. And yes, I suspect at resale it will be worth a little less then a comparable Plat would be. But I do like the blue... Was bit disappointed with the reduced color choice on the Plat

I think you get different styling, wheels, self deploying running boards, vibrating seats, more plush steering wheel choosing the 700a over the 502a.

platinum has nicer leather on the seats and steering wheel. i believe the massaging seats are also standard even on the 700A pkg.

I would go platinum if your okay with all the chrome. I went with lariat 502a sport to Avoid wanting to replace all the chrome. Regardless, either are great and you'll love em.

I got 502A Sport.

A couple of things to consider:

Price: A push - you can get them both for about the same...close enough it wasn't an issue for me either way

Running Boards: auto deploy on the Platinum,

Camera: you get front camera and all around camera on the Platinum

Leather: As stated above, you supposedly get "nicer" leather....but, your seat coolers will not work very well because there are no perforations in the Platinum leather.

I wanted the "black out" look with Paint to match everything - so, I went Lariat 502A sport. I have ZERO complaints.

Of ANYTHING I would check - try out the seat cooler in both and make sure you're ok w/ the function....especially if you live somewhere warm.

I recently traded in a 2015 loaded Lariat for a 2017 King Ranch. One of the big differences I have noticed so far is that the King Ranch has much better seats. I believe the Platinum has upgraded seats also. The problem with the leather on the Lariat seats has been well discussed on this forum. If Ford has not changed the leather or style of the seats on the later years you will have the same problem.

I just can't do the tailgate on the KR, Platinum or Limited and that's why I went with 502A with Tech Pkg, 360 Camera, Lane Keeping, Auto-cruise...

The silver cover is an option. I agree and my KR just had a small badge on the tailgate.

You can always have the dealer paint the plaque. Charged $200 to paint it Magnetic on mine to match the truck.
