Will swapping speakers give me better sound or is there more?
Really not pleased with the flat audio of the factory system on my S-crew XLT 302a. My '13 XLT was sooo much better. Will upgrading all the speakers give me some decent sound with the factory head unit or will I need ro add an amp as well? I gather the fronts are 6x9's and the rears are 6.5's.

Did you get the Sony one, with the sub?
If so, it's a little more complex but nothing terrible.
Swapping speakers will probably give you an improvement, yes. BUT - if you swap speakers and put an amp on them, even a small on (like 45-50w/4-channel) you will get a LOT better sound out of them.
It wont be louder - it will just give the speakers the power they need to operate at their designed ability - at all volumes - it will sound 100% better than it would without an amp.
In conclusion - I will be doing this same thing - I'm not happy with it - so I will be upgrading the front components and rear coax speakers along with adding a sub (mine came with the weak as hell sub) - but will be adding an amp to the speakers.
And as with all things, you pay for what you get - you dont have to go crazy, but dont go "Pyle" brand either, know what I mean?

Then you wont have to worry about doing Coax in the fronts (but they DO make a huge difference) vs. the coax option.
Either way, it will be better, it's just up to you how *much* better you want it to be.

Maybe check out this kicker system
Not sure if you have seen this but apparently there is a complete kicker system (sub, speakers, amp), that is completely plug n play for about 400 bucks. Looks as though all these on this forum are pre "15 but might be worth a shot giving the guy a call to see if they have a system that will work for the new model. Kicker has it on their site for $1500 I believe so hopefully he has them available at the discounted price. Apparently everyone that has done it loves it, thinking of giving him a call when I finally get my truck.

Next page had this one listed with that same system (sub only) from the 14 models used in the 2015. Not sure exactly how much youre looking to change.
