Default Plastidip 2015 Chrome XLT grill

I like chrome but I decided that the XLT had a little bit too much chrome on the front so I plastidipped the bars inside the grill. I kinda like the look. Its mix of the sport grill and chrome grill. Next step will be to get it painted with real automotive paint. What you guys think?

Wow, that looks really good. Might look even better if it was color-matched to the truck. Is that what you are thinking about doing when you paint it? Or just black?

Color match it and it will look good.

Or leave the bars chrome and paint the surround.

Yeah the plastidip matches the black plastic pieces in the bumper really well, so it definitely gives a factory look. Im kind of surprised Ford didn't offer a grille like this. If I get it painted I will do a flat black/dark charcoal color to match the plastic as best I can.

Wow, that looks like a keeper. Great use of plasti dip to see if you liked or not.

I like it, looks great. How well do you think it'll hold up to road debris and bugs though?

Don't really know yet. I just used the Plastidip because it wasn't permanent. I didn't want to paint it and then decide I didn't like it. If it starts chipping or peeling off, I will just peel it all off and get it painted professionally. If it last a year or two before it starts to look bad I may just pull it off and redo it myself with Plastidip again. It didn't take long at all to do and Plastidip is cheap.
