Can some of you guys post pics of your steering wheel? I have a 16' lariat with the cheepo plastic feeling wheel. Brother in law just picked up a 16 xlt sport with a beautiful leather wrapped wheel. I would like to see what wheels everyone has got? Think I might have to swap mine, the wheel is one of my biggest complaints.

Doesn't fully make sense - maybe he had it swapped out with a Plat / Limited wheel?

I have an XLT sport and it has the "leather" steering wheel that feels like hardened vinyl you are describing.

My '16 King Ranch steering wheel - it feels great. What I hang on to is just the right thickness. I wish the buttons were rearranged some though - I'd have the stereo controls on the left instead of the right and there are too many buttons for controlling the cruise control.

Does your brother in-law have heated / cooled wheel? I have a 502A with the same non leather feeling wheel, which I think is due to the heated feature.

No his is not heated.

Anyone that's owned a gm knows what I mean. The wheel in my lariat is like a vinyl wheel not even wrapped.

I agree about the cruise control buttons, there are too many. I LOVE my Ford truck, but I do like how my Chevy Traverse has a button that keep the cruise control activated all the time, even when you restart the engine. I really dislike the two button press to engage the cruise.

My steering wheel is the hard leather too, I had too actually go back and look at the specs of my truck to see if my steering wheel was leather or vinyl. LOL

I have a 2016 XLT Sport and it has the hard plastic-ish steering wheel.

all steering wheels are the same. The same chit plastic "leather" we have on XLTs are on Platinums and Limiteds. As someone posted, the exception is the KR of course.

From the looks of it, the wheel from the Raptor if you add the 802A package with the special leather (the one with orange accents) is true/real leather and kinda looks nice from online pictures.

The leather wheels are the same for XLT 301A through the platinum as far as I can tell. Only other options are King Ranch or the base models.

Ford.com explains that XLT 300A and below have a "urethane" steering wheel and XLT's 301A and above have "Leather Wrapped"
