Default Philips X-treme bulbs - Big Smile

This afternoon I installed the Phillips X-teme upgraded bulbs in The Boss.

Wow! They work as well as advertised. Tremendous difference in function. Well worth the price.

I also took the old high beam bulbs and put them in the fog lamps. BIG difference! I like it!

It took me a while to figure out how to remove the headlight assemblies. I couldn't figure out how to remove the final clip that was holding in the bottom plastic support piece in. I finally found a video that showed to use needle nose plyers to squeeze the clip. Then the large plastic piece popped out.

I can now remove the headlight assembly in five minutes. It's a piece of cake.

Here's the video link that helped me.....

By the way, I tried to change the bulbs by going through the back side and up through the wheel well. Forget that. Too cramped for my big hands.

Ms. SPOAT and me took a ride on some dark country roads tonight. She even said WOW what a difference!

It ain't LED's or HID's but it's a simple upgrade and works great.

Merry Christmas!

When I put LEDs in I tried to go in through the wheel well also. Screw that, I also found it much easier to just pull the whole headlight out.

Thx for the review. I was contemplating putting LEDs in the highs or just trying these. I may just try these first. Just nervous about how long these type of bulbs last. I've heard they burn hotter and therefore burn out much faster. You should update this thread in the future and let us know how long they last.

Roger that.

I've tried Sylvania Silver Stars in the past (Honda Accord) and they would only last six months. Total junk.

Hoping these will last longer.

H11 is the low beam and the 9005 is the high beam bulb.

I was told the same thing about the short life of these bulbs. That was in 2012 and they're still going strong! They will probably quit working tomorrow!

Another late night drive on Christmas evening confirms that they are MUCH better than the OEM's.

What really surprised me was the improvement on the high beams. The reflection off the road signs will blind you.

Phillips claim a 100% improvement over stock. I believe they are.

Placing the old 9005's in the fog lamps gave a tremendous upgrade to them. I believe they are going from 40w to 65 watts. A very noticeable difference.

So far, no one is flashing their high beams at me.

This mod looks like a win, win as far as I'm concerned.

We'll see how long they last.

According to the vendor page at American Muscle, the 2018 uses the same size bulbs.

I would check your 2018 owner's manual to confirm.
