Paying full MSRP price for 2018 model?
#11
And as for the Raptor, here we have some dealers with $15k mark-ups. My brother-in-law is friends with the general manager at one of these. He told me that about once a week a customer will demand to hear it from him--not the salesman--that they won't bend on that mark-up. Even if you get that special pricing, they just add the $15k on top of it.

- Buying the new model year as it just starts up will yield very small rebates.
- The prior model year will have much larger rebates, but finding exactly what you want may be difficult.
- XLTs have the highest rebates. Models about XLT has much lower rebates by thousands of dollars.
- You may want to investigate the Ford X-Plan, and join an organization that offers it, prior to the 60 day period that you have to wait to qualify to use the plan. Fixed price just above invoice, minus rebates, no negotiating. Takes all the stress out of the experience.

Depends on how well the new model is received. Dealers are going to judge customer response to the new model and if people come to look at the 2018s but purchase 2017s they're not going to be as many discounts. Ford will also take note and not offer as many rebates on the 2017s if 2018s are not rolling off the lot. New facelift might not be popular then there is the all new powertrains across the board. I would get a 2017.

Right now, I think the cheapest organization to join is the EAA, $40.
You get a PIN, and can look up X-Plan pricing on the Ford Build site.

I'm in hopes they hit the ground before October 20 (doubtful after the 17 roll out) so I can still use the A-plan I have, otherwise it will be x-plan or see if big volume dealers just want a sale at month end.
I hope they push some more media so we can see the 18 wearing other colors already.

Very interesting that you mentioned about the costco auto program, I was thinking about that this morning. Costco gives decent deal?

That is a great news. The reason that I asked that was that when I was looking into buying a 2017 Honda Pilot last fall or winter, a lot of people reported that they paid above the MSRP price and dealers were not budging.
Does F150 normally offer good or the best incentive around Thanksgiving/Christmas time?

On the 18 f150 rebates will be low at first and then grow throughout 18.

But, on the 2017 Edge I have on order, X-Plan is about $101 over invoice, but the Doc Fee is limited to $100. So, $101 over invoice, but $399 saved on the Doc Fee. Which is the better deal, LOL? Best I could do on a Titanium, at 4 dealers, Special Order.
So always do the TOTAL math.
Here is what an X-Plan invoice looks like on an Edge.
