My 2018 Platinum that I found on the lot had the pano roof. I would not have ordered or looked for one with the pano roof. My wife likes it, I could do without it. Now it's making a creaking noise every time I go over a bump or hit a pothole. I noticed someone mentioned opening and closing it so I will try that to see if I can get rid of the creaking. Mine doesn't leak going through high pressure car washes and I haven't had any problems with it opening or closing (like my previous single panel roof). Some folks say they need to be opened and closed frequently.....pretty tough to do when you have 6 months of winter like we do in Northern Wisconsin. My next truck won't have a sunroof.

On sunny winter days, you'd be surprised how warm the top of the truck gets. Don't be afraid to open it. Where are you guys up there?

Wausau, WI and Lac du Flambeau, WI It's been a long winter up here.

I don't open the roof much because my previous one would open and then not close or it would close and reopen on it's own and then I'd spend 10 minutes trying to get it closed again.

I'm going to cycle the roof a few times to see if I can get rid of the creaking....it's very annoying and not expected on a truck with 11,200 miles.

I live in WA state. If I lived in AZ I might have a different perspective especially regarding the heat.
As a Texan, hail is a constant concern!

Cost to fix?.....Warranty I've never had a moonroof fail
Heat.....It has a sunshade
Noise....Non Issue
Hailstorm.....Yeah, a meteor shower can crack it too.
Drain failure seems to have been resolved. You don't hear too much about it on newer trucks.
Careful about those ***-u-mptions. I actually did have one on a previous vehicle. Wife's idea. Not a pano, but still a leaky hole in the roof. Thankfully, she saw the wisdom in not buying another one.

$1500 is $1500. Saying "it's not too bad considering the total cost" is BS.
Warranty is great... as long as it doesn't fail outside of warranty. And when it does fail, the repairs are NOT cheap.
Heat... sunshade, limo tint, whatever you want, it will still radiate more heat than a solid roof.
Noise... subjective. But I'd be wiling to be I could take a calibrated SPL meter and find the cabin to be noisier on a rattle-roof-equipped vehicle compared to a solid roof.
Meteor shower... since meteors don't reach the Earth, I'm not terribly concerned. And I'm thinking hail is a *lot* more likely (especially in NTX) than a meteorite impact.
Drain failure... "seems to have been resolved". That really gives me the warm-and-fuzzies. As pointed out above, the rattle-roofs DO leak. By design. The drains carry the water away. So they are a pathway for water inside your vehicle... and you have to hope and trust that the drains are up to the task.

My wife bought this truck for me for my birthday last year. She wasn't specifically looking for one with a pano roof, but the truck had all of the other equipment that she figured I'd want. So, she grabbed it. I have to say reading about the pano roof issues here makes me a little nervous, but, we really enjoy the roof. It makes the cab feel so much more spacious. The truck stays in the garage and I've done the TSB (lubrication) to keep it working properly. No issues thus far, fingers crossed.

I special ordered my truck so as to not have the rattle glass. Had it in my 16 and hated it. Creaks, rattles, and even with the shade closed, when it is zero and below the cold just seeps in. That and I am sun sensitive, so it was always closed, just a little bit of the shade being opened and I can feel the top of my head cooking. That and I wanted as much payload as I can get.

OTOH hail was the least of my worries as the glass is laminated now, not tempered, so it will crack but not shatter (though the rear panel may still be tempered).

For those who can sit in the blazing sun and not turn into a cooked lobster, the sunroof does have it's benefits. On warm days, opening the rear window and the roof can keep it cool and not need the AC.

The problem with "reading about the pano roof issues" is that out of the hundreds of thousands of F-150s sold each year you hear a handful of people complain about leaks on forums like this. The vast majority have no issues at all. Almost every vehicle I have ever owned has had a sunroof and this is the 3rd with a pano roof. None of them has ever given me any issues at all.
