all is correct and preference is preference however all tundras will flex terribly under load. I'm sorry your 5.0 had an issue but there are 10s of thousand more that don't. I have a 2002 that I am giving to my nephew with 180k miles fx4 4x4 Crew 5.4. It's old. But operates as new. If you don't use your truck as a truck with payload I'm sure you'll love it. Oh don't do too much off road either. But it will go the distance. I can't fault you for that. Or anyone that buys it. But if you put 2000lbs in the bed then drive on the road you will endanger us all. So please don't do that. Otherwise enjoy your tundra as I will be enjoying my 2002 untill I get my 2017.

I'll look at anything that has a turbocharged engine in it. Since getting this 2.7tt I'm hooked. Like the looks of the GMC most (after the F150).

Personally it would be a dodge for me. Gms don't ride very well, the interior still feels real cheap, I don't like the layout on some of the controls, the seats are not that comfortable, I think the new ones are ugly as sin. The only thing they have going is the 6.2 engine and you can only get that engine in a high trim package expensive truck. I don't want all the bs gadgets and such. The hemi engine has proven with the 8 speed trans it is just as capable towing wise, the layout while not ideal isn't terrible, the ride is pretty good with the rear coil springs, the styling is light years better...

Toyota would be my absolute last resort. My mom had 3 Toyota trucks in the last 5-6 years and every one of them have been huge pos. the first was an 09-10 I think tundra. Had the rearend rebuilt twice, engine replaced once, along with multiple other issues with trim, electronics etc. the second was a Tacoma, terrible mileage, total gutless pos, engine knocked real bad, etc. she traded that for her current '14 tundra which has been in the shop at least once a month over the past year. The front bumper fell off going down the road, multiple electronic issues with gauges, couple sensors went bad, and now she says the trans has been shifting really funny lately. Huge pos!!!

I plan to keep my current '14 for a while as I am not sold on the new '15+ f150. I am waiting to see how this new 10 speed works out. I am hoping it nets better fuel economy as I am not impressed with what the are getting now.

I agree. Sorry, I would just quit driving if Toyota was the only option. What? I can my opinion too! Lol.

I thought the Tundra looked really outdated both inside and out.

I love the look of the new Sierras but not the price tags, and the Silverado (although more or less the same truck) doesn't quite do it for me.

I considered the Dodge but their lower safety ratings turned me off and I read a lot of transmission problem issues with them.

I think out of all of them I'd go with the GMC/Chevy before the Toyota or the Dodge.

I really like the look of the new Silverado. But when I was doing price comaprisons I got the impression that you do pay more to get less.

Plus as I mentioned in a previous forum. I am still anti GM and Chrysler for their tax payer bail out in early '09. For that, I would go with a Toyota. GM and Chrysler will get no more of my money.

Sure, you can have an opinion. That's what the forum is for, right?

Highly doubt I well get a Tundra. The payload difference doesn't bother me, but in the past, Ford has knocked $10-$12k off sticker towards the end of the year. I will probably wind up with a XL F150 supercrew 4wd, 5.0, for around $32k. As far as payload capacity, I don't generally carry near the limit of either truck. But to be honest, when I have, the material wasn't weighed anyway, so I wouldn't have known. Difficult to weigh rocks, dirt, mulch and the like with no scales handy and the house is closer than the nearest truck scale.

Oh yeah, the 5.0 knocking, that was unfortunate. It may not have ended the truck's life early...but it didn't sound good at all at 17k miles. I did trade it for a Toyota lol. For my wife, not me. Got her what she wanted, and I figured what the hell, Toyota's are supposed to last (in theory).

I'm not discounting your Mom's experience, but....the bumper fell off just out of nowhere? The Toyota's stay in the shop all the time, so your second choice is a Ram? Everyone's got an opinion, and they're entitled to it. But if you're thinking Ram/Fiat's reliability is above Toyota's....maybe so, man. But I have to kinda doubt it.
