While I have 3.73 with my '11 5.0, I went with 3.55 on my '15 5.0... I wanted a bit better MPG, and with the increased power and lighter weight, it should feel similar I think...

I don't know your or where you drive or 4-wheel.
I would definitely order the 3:73's with the Locking Axle. You will never regret it.
I've owned two F-150's with the 3:55's. Two FX-4's with the 3:73's.
I like both but if I had to choose one it would be the 3:73.
The gas mileage is maybe one mile different, maybe.
My 2014 4x4 Lariat had the 3:55. I love my truck but coming off the line the 3:73's are just a tad quicker.
I'm 67 years old and don't need to see an editorial on safe driving.

I went with the 3.73 with my 5.0. Haven't driven it yet as it just was delivered to the dealer today.

I too ordered the FX4 and the 3.73 E-locker was only a $150 bump to move up from whichever E-locker comes with the FX4 (3.31 or 3.55).

Rear axle ratio decision in an F150 pickup isn't about stoplights and muscle cars. It's about:
  • I never expect to tow anything and I do a lot of highway driving: 3.31
  • I do TONS of towing and/or mostly city driving: 3.73
  • I do plenty of highway driving, but I do plan to be hauling or towing a reasonable amount on occasion: 3.55
You're not REALLY going to see much of an appreciable difference between a 3.55 and the 3.73 when unladen, but you'll definitely want the 3.73 if you plan on doing a lot of hauling.

Coming from an Eco, the 5.0 will seems underpowered down low. The 3.55 gear or 3.73 will help counter the loss of low end torque.

Do you ever plan on putting a real truck tire on it, that is something else to consider when thinking about gearing. I had a 2012 4 door Chevy with a 5.3 6sp auto and 3.08's and I hated it with a passion and got rid of it after just 10k miles (4 months). My current truck, 2013 Screw 4x4 5.0 3.55's, is so much better. That crappy Chevy downshifted all the time and got terrible fuel mileage because it was always hunting for the right gear. I just put 10ply 305/55/20's on my truck and wish I had went with the 3.73's.

I kinda figured it would. I have the 3.31 in my ecobust now and it even feels underpowered with a trailer. I do plan on putting tires and a level on so the 3.55 seems like the best for me. Thanks for all the input.

If you plan on lifting and larger tires... AND tow, I'd go with 3.73s all day
