Doesn’t “stick out” as in protrude from the tailgate, but there is the big cutout on top of the gate. Maybe I’m just weird, but I hate the look with that cutout. The regular gate looks so much cleaner.

I ordered the next one with the inverter. I doubt I will ever use it.

basing your fuel strategy off an event that happened 30 years ago is kind of ridiculous. Tornados, hurricanes, blizzards, etc happen all over the US fairly often and the fuel supply is rarely affected for and even if it is, its for a very short time. a 1/4 tank of gas will get you 180ish miles if you have to drive during a natural disaster. After the real fuel crisis in '73 protocols were put into place with the national oil reserves to prevent something like that from happening again. There may be minor disruptions here and there, but a repeat of a fuel crisis is remote at best.

Theres a ton of thing i love about my truck but 4A has got to be my favorite. I live in a city where we get insane Chinooks in the winter(last friday was -22 and today is +11) so my roads can be clear one minute and the next black ice in the shade Its nice to just leave it in 4A and carry on with my day and not worry about shift the 4wd back and forth
