Options for New Keyless Fob
I searched the forums but was unable to find any answer to my question. I recently purchased a 2015 F-150 Lariat, but it only came with one keyless fob. Can I buy a keyless fob online and just have it programmed or do I need to buy everything through Ford? Also, how much has it cost for those of you that have bought a new keyless fob from Ford?

I had 2 remotes but wanted a spare just in case.
Got a new remote fob & uncut blade key on Flea-Bay for about $68.77+Free Shipping ~ last week from www.http://www.keylessentryremotefob.com -It's Ford p/n FL3T15K601GB, a 5-button remote for 2015-17 F150's.
My Lariat (w/ 502A pkg) has the push-button start & cannot be programmed by owner. Found this out after watching numerous F150 vids & searches for programming instructions. Prolly spent 3 hrs trying to do it myself w/ no joy, dammit.
Called local dealer & was very happy to find cost to program was $52+tax, no appt. needed takes less than an hour.
Went there Weds afternoon this week~ less than 40minutes & done! Bonus was they cut the blade key for FREE & I got my Ford Owners Advantage points/credits too.
Checked functions on all 3 remotes b4 I left dealer & all is good!
p.s. even tho' it shows as a "Re-manufactured" it was in perfect condition when I got it-- no scratches or blems on it!

I have checked into this recently and usually you can get a much better price by checking into a locksmith. Especially if you still have the two original keys. I think a guy somewhat near me quoted like $95 bucks for the FOB and cutting which is somewhat reasonable if I decide to do it. If you can get a guy to just do the cut for you it might be cheaper as you can buy the remote online a little cheaper. However, the couple guys I called/e-mailed seem really keen on selling you the remote so they can do a mark up on that.

Yea, I checked coupla local locksmiths & both were over $140 just for the fob & cutting the key was $28. The original dealer when I got the truck 3 mos. ago wanted $215+tx to provide new fob/cut blade/& program. I offered them $115 & the sales mgr. flipped out saying he pays his tech $60 just to do the work & they'd lose money @ that price.
You're correct--there are a buncha places to get the remotes for around $95.
My point in posting was to share the fact that 150's w/ the 502A pkg cannot be user programmed & to provide a reference cost for local Ford dealer to program a Fob bought elsewhere---that seems to be what NashvilleCPA originally asked.

I always buy a spare so I can program a new key in case I lose one.
