Default Oil pressure gauge?

Where is everyone's oil pressure gauge sitting under normal conditions? Is it supposed to be dead in the center? Mine sits about 1/8-1/4" right over center. When I check my oil level it's at the high line on the stick or a little above it.

Mine's just right of center. I believe these don't actually read oil pressure. They are similar to the old idiot lights, but in a gauge form. If it's above 5 psi the gauge will read in the center, below 5 psi and it drops to the bottom. If not you would be seeing fluctuations between idle and higher RPMs.

Ford hasn't used a real gauge in many years. If it's above 7psi it goes to the normal position.

The gauge just basically says yes or no. That’s why you can’t enable an actual pressure with Forscan like you can over the temp gauges.

Just wondering where some peoples are reading as a curiosity. Perfectly in the middle a little higher or a little lower.

Most Ford oil pressure sensors are normally open switches, that close with about 7PSI of oil pressure. However, the oil pressure sensors on 2015 and newer 5.0Ls, and 2.7Ls have an analog sensor, but the oil pressure image on the instrument panel shows no oil pressure, or half scale from the PCM.
