Default Oil Leak on 2017 2.7 <3,000 miles?

Good morning all! I was prepared to perform my first oil change this morning but after pulling the fiber oil pan cover I noticed oil dripping from the bell housing and oil pan. Ended up being a pretty disappointing morning with scheduling a visit to the Ford service department.

This is the first I have heard of this for the 2.7, as I have only seen topics on this for the 3.5s. Anyone else have this going on...?

Here are some pics:

I have a 2016 XLT and it has been like that since 5,000 miles.
Oil level hasn't changed so I am leaving well enough alone.

I've got a 2017 2.7 and haven't had any issues. And I've been inside and out of every inch of that truck for this exact reason. Well.... I hope they get you fixed up.

Mine needed a new oil pan gasket at the first oil change. There are a handful of posts about the issue, I wouldn't say its common but you're definitely not the only one.

I seen numerous post for the 3.5 but none for the 2.7.
Did they give you a new oil pan and/or cover the fiber cover?

They just removed the pan, cleaned it up and resealed it... according to the invoice anyway. Hasn't leaked since though.

This sounds like an issue with manufacturing. Seems like there were some issues either installing gaskets or faulty ones W/ covers.

I have a 2015 2.7. I went to do the third oil change and took the fiber cover off and it was wet with oil. Took it to the dealer and they said the oil pan was leaking and Ford said to replace the oil pan. They did and it hasn't leaked since. That has been about six months ago. I left the fiber cover off so I could see if there were any leaks.

Seems like ford might have a quality issue with installing the new plastic oil pans. My 16 has not had any issue and it seems like Ford doesn't have a problem fixing them. Get it back and it should treat you right.

When I was going my lift I noticed the plastic oil pan. Found that a bit surprising, but knock on wood I haven't had any issues. Good to know that Ford is addressing the troubled ones though.
